Bengaluru FC clinched the inaugural Hero Super Cup with a resounding 4-1 victory over East Bengal in the Final at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Friday. After narrowly losing out on the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-2018 title, the Blues were keen on finishing the season on a high. Albert Roca’s men put up a brilliant display in the Final with the usual suspects, Sunil Chhetri and Miku bagging three goals between them, after Rahul Bheke had equalised to level proceedings.

Kerala Blasters forward and Hero ISL’s all-time top scorer Iain Hume congratulated the team as well as captain Chhetri for a stellar season in front of goal.

Robin Singh and CK Vineeth were also quick to praise their former teammates for the deserved victory.

Two-time Hero ISL champions ATK and newcomers Jamshedpur FC also came forth to congratulate their fellow rivals for their success.

Even Pro Kabbadi’s Bengaluru Bulls and Indian Premier League’s Royal Challengers Bangalore were not shy of lauding their city club for winning the coveted trophy.

Star Sports commentator Anant Tyagi hailed Bengaluru’s never-say-die attitude during the tournament, while presenter Leeza Mangaldas was all smiles, as she shared a photo with Chhetri after the final whistle.
