Henry Kisekka: We always play like we have nothing to lose

Gokulam Kerala FC became the second team after Churchill Brothers SC to enter the pre-quarter finals of the Hero Super Cup, as they defeated NorthEast United FC 2-0 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Thursday in the second qualifier. Henry Kisekka breached the Highlander’s shaky defence twice in the course of 90 minutes to give his team a memorable win. After the final whistle, supercup.in caught up with goalscorer Kisekka to find out his views on the match. Here are the excerpts.

Talk us through the game.

Yes, it was a good game for us as a team and we always work together. It is a great feeling right now. Now we have the I-League and the Hero ISL teams so it is a good month for the young boys and the whole team as well.

How satisfying does it feel to have a good game?

Obviously, it is very satisfying because when you go to the field and you feel like you’re doing your job, it is satisfying and always motivates you to do more.

Is there an added pressure when you’re playing the knockout format?

No. When we entered today’s game we came as the underdogs, so we always play like we have nothing to lose. When you come like you have no pressure, that always makes your team dangerous against the opponent.
