Farukh Choudhary: Luck was in Jamshedpur’s favour today

Jamshedpur FC sealed their spot in the quarter-finals of the Hero Super Cup after overcoming Hero I-League 2017-18 champions Minerva Punjab FC 5-4 on penalties at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Monday. After 120 minutes of intense action, the match rolled into the penalty shootout after a goalless stalemate.

Jamshedpur’s custodian Sanjiban Ghosh emerged as the unlikely hero as his brilliant saves throughout the match and the crucial penalty save at the end saw his team through. After the final whistle, supercup.in caught up with their forward Farukh Choudhary who threw light on why the team failed to find the back of the net in regulation time and also hailed Sanjiban’s performance. He went on to laud Minerva for their intent, before adding how his team held their composure for the high octane penalty shootout.
