Shillong Lajong FC pulled off a miraculous comeback to beat FC Pune City 3-2 in the pre-quarter finals of the Hero Super Cup at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday. An injury-time penalty from captain Samuel Lalmuanpuia ensured the Hero I-League club’s qualification to the quarter-final, despite initially being two goals down early in the first half.

After the final whistle, Lajong’s Laurence Doe spoke to supercup.in and shared his feelings after the hard-fought victory. The defender was extremely proud of his teammates as they showed incredible grit and determination to get back into the game against a mighty opponent. The 31-year old also remains confident that his team can do well in the next round and progress to the semi-finals of the competition.
